If you are enrolled full time in a higher degree by research (HDR) program (PhD or research Masters program) in the School of Applied Sciences, this scholarship could provide you financial assistance while you undertake your research degree.
The 2012 amount was $23,728 AUD per annum, in line with the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) stipend rate for 2012.
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
Preference will be given to PhD applicants.
You must apply for an APA by the RMIT closing date. All unsuccessful APA applicants will be considered for School scholarships.

The scholarship usually lasts three years for a PhD or two for a Masters by research program. The tenure period for students who have already completed six months or more of their research degree will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
If you are offered a School of Applied Sciences research scholarship then subsequently awarded an APA or RMIT Scholarship, you must relinquish the School of Applied Sciences scholarship.
